A Life Lived in Small Batches

I’m Dawn, the hands and heart behind Chaizing Fireflies Nature’s Dispensary. I’m a formulator, a chronic‑pain survivor, and a woman who learned that comfort isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. What began as a search for relief slowly became a craft, and that craft became a calling.
I work in small batches, with botanicals that steep for months and minerals that support the body gently, not aggressively. Every remedy I make is something I’ve needed myself — something that helped me keep moving, keep creating, and keep showing up.
This apothecary isn’t a brand I built from the outside in. It’s a life I’ve lived from the inside out.
Why I Formulate the Way I Do
I didn’t come to formulation through curiosity or trend. I came to it because my own body demanded something gentler, something steadier, something that didn’t make me choose between relief and side effects. Living with chronic pain changes the way you move through the world — and it changes the way you make things, too.
I learned early that comfort isn’t a luxury. It’s a tool. A lifeline. A way to stay present in your own life.
So I began creating remedies the only way that made sense to me: slowly, intentionally, with ingredients that support rather than shock. Botanicals that steep until they’re ready. Minerals that work with the body, not against it. Textures that feel like exhale instead of effort.
I formulate the way I do because I’ve lived the days when even small tasks felt impossible. I know what it means to need something that helps you keep going — not just for yourself, but for the people who rely on you.
Every product I make is built from that place. Not theory. Not trend. Lived experience.

My Craft Philosophy
Slow craft • Small batches • Intention • Gentleness
I’ve never believed in rushing a remedy. Plants don’t hurry, and neither do I. Everything I make begins long before it reaches a jar — with botanicals steeped for months, oils infused until they’re fully saturated, and minerals chosen for how they support the body, not how quickly they act.
My craft is slow on purpose. It’s small‑batch because that’s the only way to stay close to the work — to feel the texture shift, to smell when an infusion is ready, to notice when a blend needs one more day, not one more ingredient.
I don’t chase trends or shortcuts. I follow the plants, the seasons, the way real comfort feels on the skin. I choose ingredients that are steady, trustworthy, and time‑tested. I build formulas that respect the body’s natural rhythms instead of overwhelming them.
Every product I make carries the same intention: to offer relief without harshness, support without strain, and care that feels like an exhale.
My Values as a Maker

(Integrity • gentleness • intention • transparency)
My work is shaped by a handful of values I return to again and again — the things that guide my hands, my formulas, and the way I show up for the people who use my products.
- Gentleness First — I believe remedies should support the body, not overwhelm it. Every formula begins with the question: Will this feel kind?
- Small‑Batch Integrity — I make things in quantities I can stay connected to. When I can see, smell, and feel every batch, I know it’s right.
- Nature‑Led Choices — Plants, minerals, and time-tested ingredients guide my work. I don’t chase trends; I follow what’s steady and real.
- Honest Formulation — No fillers, no shortcuts, no ingredients chosen just because they’re popular. If it’s in a jar, it has a purpose.
- Comfort as a Right — Living with chronic pain taught me that comfort isn’t indulgent — it’s essential. Everything I make is built from that belief.
- Presence in the Process — I stay close to the work. I listen to the plants, the textures, the shifts. Craft is a conversation, not a production line.
These values aren’t marketing points. They’re the way I live, the way I work, and the way I care for the people who trust me with their skin, their comfort, and their daily rituals.
This is the philosophy that guides my hands — slow, attentive, and rooted in the belief that the best things are made with patience.
